I've got a cracking Spectrum 48k emulator on my PC.

Spend many an hour playing Bombjack, taking it around the clock.

Have to watch the odd ropey collision detection though, robbing you of a life.

Still got my Amiga 500 and 1200 with hundreds of games.

Speedball 2 and SWIV. :becool:

I can remember my brother playing Manic Miner for hours to complete it, after lever 24 it just goes back to the start

The one great thing about the Spectrum emulator is the instantaneous loading of ROMs.

I really don't miss the 5 minute loading times with the usual crash half way through of the actual Spectrum.

Brutal Sports Football on the Amiga. A kind of cross between rugby, American Football, gladiatorial combat and soccer played by two teams of Viking-type warriors in an enclosed stone courtyard with big fireplaces as goals at either end and no rules (as far as I could tell). My son could play it really well - my team got mashed up by the opposition every time I tried it!

I dont think I ever beat the computer by scoring more goals on that game, I'd simply hit them until all their heads came off

There are loads I liked but way, way, above everything else in terms of hours spent and enjoyment was:

Quest for the Rings for the Magnavox Odyssey 2 (the console was called something else in Europe)

It was rubbish if you played it alone- It was a two-player game that required cooperation to survive. A friend (the owner of the console) and I would play it for hours. If we played any other games we'd have massive arguments as we both hated to lose. In any case all of the other games for the Magnavox were rubbish.

There was some sort of board game with it. It was crap; straight to the action.
