Just watched one of the gymnastics galas on iPlayer. Highly recommended, especially the four tumblers (I think) from China. They were incredible.

Brazil have won their fourth gold of the games with an exceptionally close finish to the last race of the Sailing programme, the woman's 47 (I think) pairs.

Really, it went right down to the line against New Zealand, and they won by about a boat length!!

One of the woman who won is a native of Rio (and already a huge star apparently) and the course is where she has been sailing all her life, so who can possibly begrudge her?? I feel happy for her, really, I do.

That will be her (and her racing partner) made for life!

No but I saw the Men's and woman's hockey at the Commonwealth Games with my Mum* a couple of years back.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, it is a nice thing to see!



* - A bit of a long running joke here, but my Mum used to play it at school but was never good enough.
She was told (obviously in jest, albeit cruelly and just a bit off by today's standards) that it was ok as only Lesbians were good at it anyway.
My Mum, being quite innocent beleived this...... Until she eventually found out what a Lesbian actually was!!

So, in our family, only Lesbians play hockey (presumably including the men)!!
