That was very good; the penalty carry on was exciting. Much better than penalties in football; perhaps football can learn from hockey, run from half way line and score within set time if it's all square after ET.

Spot on. Really enjoyed that. But if we adopt this in football, can we give the keeper a baseball bat?

I presume they are fully made to measure frames with bespoke components too, badged up as Boardmans.
Anyone know?

Boardman do two ranges, the bog standard ones that are sold in Halfords (the Pro and the Team and so on), and the Elite models (SLR, AiR etc) that are sold direct and via independent bike shops. The Elites are very good bikes indeed, perfectly good enough for top end racing. When I rode in Scotland with Boardman himself a few months ago, he was aboard an SLR Race fitted with SRAM eTap and Enve carbon wheels (I'm convinced those wheels are the only reason he was able to drop me so easily). That's a bike that would set you back at least £7k. The funny thing is, it wasn't even his own bike - it was one the Boardman rep had brought up for him, so he had to give it back afterwards. I queried whether or not it was a standard build and the Boardman rep told me it was.

A slightly controversial outcome chez DP!

Hockey is a great sport though - they change the rules all the time to improve it if things don't work.

Offside got killed off years ago to try and spread the players out.

There used to be more footy style penalty flicks, but then they introduced the current form of shootout to give the keeper more of a chance.

Did he mention his chip shop was bombed by the Germans?

Perhaps many team sports can learn from hockey.

Our girls were amazing, all the way. They may not have bullied their way to greater possession but made it count when they had it.

Really inspiring teamwork, bravey and cool headed skill.

Really impressed with the womens hockey team. Played really well obviously but they were so proud and sang their hearts out to the anthem during the medal ceremony

Also well done & congrats to Nick Skelton

Dont know what to say about the US swimmers and the false accusations. My first word was dicks !

Really pleased for the women's hockey team but I wish they, in general, would risk more one-touch play. Bearing in mind that I know fark all about the game, it looks like it could be made better by a less clunky and conservative approach.

I've been up on the piss so I'm awake at an unearthly hour watching a bloke kicking some other bloke for medals.
Coming up though right now, Usain Bolt about to go in the 4 x 100. I love Usain Bolt and hope to fark he's not a doper.
