Can we have them every year please? All the temporary traffic lights have been removed from my commute!! Today was the first day since I moved to working in Croydon that I have had no temp lights at all!!

I'm always happy to help!!Well thank you for the very important piece of traffic information...![]()
London has its first “Zil lane” — the stretches of road reserved for official Olympic vehicles. The first of the 30 miles of priority routes have been marked out by teams of painters working through the night.
Transport chiefs said today the lanes will not become operational until two days before the opening ceremony, but from 6am on July 25 motorists will be fined £130 for using the lanes.
They form part of a wider 109-mile Olympic road network which speeds the Olympic fleet by phasing lights to green and suspending parking bays and pedestrian crossings. The M4 bus lane will be reopened in two weeks to help speed Olympic arrivals at Heathrow into central London.
All hope of a mass civil disobedience campaign by stroppy cyclists has just vanished.Cycling
Cyclists will be able to use the ORN but won't be able to use most of the Games Lanes as they are offside (away from the kerb) - not the preferred road position for cyclists.
Arrangements will be made to allow cyclists to travel in most of the nearside Games Lanes.
No way could protesting cyclists travel in an offside games lane. It just isn't preferred. All hope of a mass civil disobedience campaign by stroppy cyclists has just vanished.

I don't understand. Why can't we protest in a Games lane then? I spend a fair bit of my time in the offside lane on the South Circular. All hope of a mass civil disobedience campaign by stroppy cyclists has just vanished.

It's great isn't it? TFL are spouting off about more trains to carry the many more people but Southeastern are actually cutting the number of services they run! And I bet any money they use shorter trains.Living in greenwich, I'm knackered. We have been told to lay up the car from end of this month until mid September as it will be impossible to go anywhere. We can not accept any deliveries, we can not have any car based friends over, our local station will be down from a train every 8 mins to 2 per hour, local busses have been diverted, the local tube station, is in the Olympic zone, the cable car does not go anywhere useful, the dlr is also in the Olympic zone.
We will suddenly go from the most connected place in the uk to only having the transport option of a Shetland Islander. Bike or Boat.
Yes, interesting wording. It suggests that if you get fed up filtering in the gutter in gridlocked traffic you can actually ride in the outside ZIL lane quite legally. Stroppy cyclists could cycle in them as slowly as they wanted....No way could protesting cyclists travel in an offside games lane. It just isn't preferred.
