Most of the MTBs I see are ridden ON road anyway:evil:
So how much off-road riding do you do? I expect you'd see one or two more MTBs off road if you did. ;)

I was on NCN 65 yesterday on my road bike not really off road, but hard packed gravel, not sure the panniers and bar bag helped the handling though
Hard packed gravel? That really is riding on the edge of the envelope........

I've been MTBing for 20 years and having taken up road riding since last year's wet summer and autumn I wish I'd done it 20 years ago; my fitness has rocketed into a different stratosphere. I'd have done a lot better at Polaris and other events if I'd also been road riding. Now I understand how the winners were always so fast.

Still, a mix of road and off road for those lucky enough to have both types of bike is a good thing.
