Even though you are in the back of beyond / wilderness, your blogs could be more regular, as I forget whcih ones I have read last

So you haven't worked out that the red * shows bits updated in the last 24 hours?;)

As for breaking my bike, I blame Dawes for supplying sub-standard wheels and a series of sub-standard mechanics for my ongoing problems. I've not been impressed. But at least I'll come back a better bike mechanic!

I've also been following and enjoying your write ups on CGOAB Helen, all the reports are interesting. I don't read them every day but catch up on some evenings. As for the bike it does seem to be having a few problems but I'm impressed how you've managed to repair them yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As another regular reader of your CGOAB journal I was sorry not to be able to wave you on your way when I was also in Banff last week - I arrived late the day you left. I nearly hired a bike for my one day off (I was there for work, reporting on a music competition) with a view to going up the Bow Parkway, but ended up hiking up a mountain instead. I know what you mean by the cold mornings there! All the best for the rest of the trip!

That's a shame we didn't quite meet up, but a good job you didn't pursue me down the Bow Parkway. I'd seen a few hills on it the previous day and was in a lazy mood so decided to head down the Trans Canada instead.

Keep going and blogging Helen - I am really enjoying your journal - it makes me green with envy!! And one day I hope that you'll teach me how to replace a spoke! ;o)

Me too. All my previous attempts at replacing spokes or truing wheels have ended up with my wheel going into my LBS for emergency surgery.

Cathryn, since I invited you to pop in to my house, can we can and spend a few weeks there over the summer in exchange!?

Hope all going well.

I don't want to hijack Helen's thread either so have started one in cafe to say hello. But all good thank you, Arch! And ALL sunny and blue skies.

Don't worry about hijacking the thread. You're part of the tour! My progress has slowed somewhat as I've backtracked to the Icefields Parkway to help out at one of the hostel for a bit and recharge my batteries but I will definitely be seeing you soonish. It's just gorgeous here.

Jay Clock, feel free to pop in for tea at any time but you'll be after Helen! Helen, chill as much as you want but we're going to the rodeo in late October if you fancy coming. I am so excited I can hardly breathe.

This is a fantastic read Helen. I'm new to CC but a long term visitor to Canada and Vancouver in particular, I toured British Columbia last year in an RV van doing about 100 miles a day. I'd say you're doing it at a far better pace. I loved the pages of your blog around 100-115 as you came down from the Rockies and on to Victoria.
I'm stil reading some of the blog, catching up on the earlier pages.
Thanks again for a good read, and well done you. What a great achievement.

Thanks! I've just realised I never got round to adding the photos for those days. I'll see if I can do that soon.
