I'm typing at 00:57 on Sunday morning in the departure lounge at Khartoum airport. Have been on a two week marathon taking in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Sudan. Kenya had nice weather but shocking traffic. Uganda had OK weather and even worse traffic, Tanzania was damp and the hotel room was sopping but the traffic bearable. I spent two days driving up to Tanga in the north and back. So it was a huge relief to reach Khartoum and some nice warm dry sunny weather, a nice hotel, charming, gentle, hospitable people and great food.
