On-One Inbred as tourer

Free day today, and the weather was gorgeous so finally got around to rebuilding my tourer. The previous Rockhopper frame got snapped at the dropouts by luggage handlers at Heathrow, so:

Steel On-One 456 frame from eBay (paintwork quite damaged): 90quid
Framebuilder to do 2 sets of extra bottle mounts + mudguard mount: 60quid
Powdercoat in British Racing Green: 30quid

Rest of stuff from old bike. I'm currently claiming the above costs back, plus the cost of new front mech, seatpost and 1 or 2 otherthings that needed replacing with the frame. As a mate said tho, I should have just claimed 450 quid for a Thorn or somesuch frame and then a 100 quid or whatever for the LBS to do the rebuild...but I prefered the project option. I wasn't sure what the ceiling is on luggage claims also.

Not sure about the strips of reflective tape on the frame, might remove them, spoils the look a bit.

A turret would probably reduce close passes I can't do bike stuff in the house, I can't concentrate - nice day, mug of tea or a couple of tinnies, fettling in the yard, can't beat it

Looks tough as old boots. Me like.

Now have to plan some sort of jaunt to prove that it is, is the only problem!

Tubus logo. You do need to get the disc adapter kit tho, so it fixes via the quickrelease. If you're using BB7s there still might not be enough clearance, I post a photo later.

But, I agree the Tubus racks look pretty sharp.

Ah...

Well there's a photo of the clearance there. Tbh I got the rack about 5years ago, Tubus might have a larger range of racks for disc bikes now.

What front rack are you using? I just got myself an inbred and will get the forks that go with it at some point. They however do not have any mounts. Ta

Carradice are their dealer in the UK and supply a kit for attaching to forks with no mounts. It's rocksolid and you can double up the attachment if you feel like it. I'd take a photo but the bike at the old folks house atm. I might be wrong but think it will attach to canti mounts also.
