Got a bit carried away and went for it (on a roundabout - i was in the right lane (bus to the left) and i couldnt be bothered waiting, as i had a good clip going, for the car going around the RA) and i was doing 30mph - doing this full out nearly a little later on some bloke (@ lights) said 'are you crazy:?:' they where in a car.

I replied;

'if you were'nt in that (car) - 'reckon you find your ride home exciting'

I think Yenners went for it on a RAB and sometime later a chap who saw it accosted him and said "My dear fellow, are you utterly mad?" to which Yenners said "My dear chap, you should abandon your automobile and try a velocipede, you'd get far more enjoyment from your daily travelling..."

Sounds like a fair summary to me. I think Arch and I have clearly been reading Yenners' laguage for far too long now! xx(

inspired by the yen I attacked the Bow flyover this evening, tore up it at 20mph plus to the amazement of the four cyclists I passed on the way up and kept going on the other side, I was up to 32mph before it became far more important to concentrate on where the curb was and what was waiting to merge into my lane form the slip road at the bottom, hadda be 35 I reckons, check the comp tomorrow

I like yenner's strange language

Oh yeh..geddit now...us Manc/Scouse get lost a bit you know.... bit difficult doing the translation...........derrrrrrrr

Longers managed great when I met him or is he not a true manc ?

Though I like the accent up in Oldham rather than the arrogant, short & hasty sound of a true manc !

Though, MR 'Ant - i will say that compared to some in the locality my accent is not very strong compared to some - even i have to ask for a repeat.

And yet again i'll type: if you cannot understand my 1st post i'd attend one of those ENGLISH evening classes by my advice instead of reading dire and awfull English on the net !

I type pretty much how i speak rather than putting on some glassy, showy polished form of BBC english.

I don't think your accent was the problem here (I had no problem understanding what you meant anyway) or ever is. Accent rarely comes across in written words, unless they are written phonetically on purpose to highlight the accent.

But typing how you speak, while laudable I'm sure, doesn't always work. Listening to someone speak, you use all sorts of visual and audible cues that you just don't get from typed words, and they help to make sense of the words.

And there's only one l in awful... I wouldn't point it out, except that you were bemoaning the standard of English online...

Now i really know why i feel 'negative' towards you Arch !

Thats if I take this seriously.

Maybe, Arch - you can advise/dictate to myself how I should post a thread / post a contribution
