My dad used to eat a slice or bread with lard and salt sprinkled on the top, didn't do him any harm, mid 70's and still going strong.
As did we as kids with our dad. That lovely rich brown stuff off the bottom of the tray and sprinkled with salt.
Now there's a flavour...

Technically yes...but you had to lay a slice of lard on top of your beef to get the desired dripping.
No lard nowadays, you get dripping but its not the same, I wouldnt eat it, its just greasy slop.

Not as good as English Steak with fresh horseradish. (but we grow a lot of horseradish in Illinois). I have never heard of English Steak, until the butcher handed it across to me at the shop on the way home. Quite good it was, but much like a round steak.
