Off again today, for the second time this year. And it happened in EXACTLY the same place. Same corner, same lane (of 4), but at a much lower speed (I did learn from my first spill).

This time I came to rest in the inside lane where I'd fallen - I didn't slide across all 4 like last time - and when I got up, I looked like I'd been romping in a drip tray.

Very little traffic uses the inside lane, it doesn't drain well and it was as oily and greasy as my line manager.

I rang the council, who said I'd have to ring RALF unless I was making a claim against them. RALF said they'd clean the road surface within 2 hours. Wish I'd complained earlier.

While I was checking council duties - they are obliged to keep cycle paths clear and safe. Get reporting - that's what I say!

Cheers

Where was this Stig- so that we can avoid it ourselves you understand, not that we want to set up a camera to catch you next time you come off. :welcome:

Glad your ok!

There are some very slippy spots around at the moment, especially where leaves have collected. The only problem is I don't have enough time to report all of the slippy surfaces, potholes, poorly fixed potholes, etc as they are everywhere in Glasgow. :welcome:

Was making my way from Eglinton Toll to Central Station area, turned left off Eglinton Street onto Norfolk Street going under the railway and a car started overtaking me so I was in the extreme right hand lane (of 4) with the car next to me. Because of my previous crash I slowed right down for the right turn onto Commerce Street (for George iv Bridge) but going round the corner was my undoing - AGAIN!. Last time I slid across 4 lanes before stopping against the kerb - this time I stayed in my own lane. Cut my knee, grazed an elbow and forearm and skinned my hip about 2" away from where I skinned it last time, but with a much smaller graze. It is only a fraction of the size of the scarring left from July. But seriously, my clothes and skin were black from the oil and grime on the road. I think next time I'm forced into that lane I'll stop and get off!!!

You can watch for my next crash at around 0850 on Monday
