One for the mechanically minded, anybody with a car replaced a turbo before?

Budget on the turbo and oil feed pipe and associated gaskets and seals along with oil and filter and also an air filter plus check air hoses to and from turbo for oil residue.
Expect all bolts to be very tight and or break as undoing them . Also pay to check inside exhaust manifold for any excessive cracking.

Oh and have fun doing it

no they are a must , the amount of times we supply turbo's at work and people dont order them amazes me and our customers are in trade so should now better

Sorry to veer OT but this is the main part of the DonnyDave Ego-less transportation solution. I had a K11 micra for a couple of years and I fondly remember it being one of the best cars I've ever had. I'm currently trying to persuade a colleague who constantly complains about having no money to get one. His current car (which I GAVE him for nothing) has thrown up a bill of a couple of hundred quid and he's complaining that used cars are expensive money pits. He's looking at leasing a new car for £200 a month and I keep telling him even in the unlikely event your Nissan Cockroach breaks you can buy 4 more every year for the same cost as your most basic lease car
