The first IBM compatible computer I bought came with a massive 420MB hard drive and I wondered what on earth I'd ever fill it with. Within a year I had ungraded to a 1GB drive.
Now x years on I have just shy of 14TB storage at home.
My first computer had 1kb of RAM which wasn't enough to get it to run a program to draw a sine and cosine wave at the same time.
The second computer had 16Kb that I upgraded to 48. A short few years later I recall sitting in my bedroom soldering in an extra 512Mb of RAM into my Atari 520 STFM so it could run Monkey Island!
