One of the very few occasions I wish I had Sky Sports.

This afternoon, live ONLY on Sky F1, is the Monaco Grand Prix. I'm not sure why, but it is one of the few sporting occasions I like to see live (I'm not even an F1 fan) - but as I am stubbornly refusing to line the pockets of Mr Murdoch, I won't be watching it. It also makes me wonder why I am forced to pay a licence fee to the BBC, when they have lost so much sport to Sky/BT. Champions league football, EPL, SPL, most of the major golf tournaments ....... There's not a lot left that I actually make a point of watching.

Yes I know there are ways and means of watching it live via dodgy streaming on the internet, but in all honesty I CBA'd with all that. I just want to be able to turn on the TV and watch something that I actually have some interest in, on the odd occasion. I can see the day coming soon when my TV licence fee becomes consigned to the bin as part of my "austerity measures" forced upon me by HM Govt. and their savage policys. Same as BT and NPower have recently been bid farewell. The difference being I NEED gas and electricity so had to find another, cheaper, supplier. I don't NEED TV.! And breeeeeeaaaathe....... :okay:

Am I imagining it, or did I read that they are going to insist everyone pays a licence because they know that even if we don't possess tellys, most folks watch on other devices.

By the time you come to think about getting rid of your TV due to the licence fee you will be of an age when it's free anyway

I hope you were just imagining it; or I can feel another rant coming on :cursing:. The BBC; what a shower of :banghead:. I've never forgiven them for making Scotland appear about a third of it's scale size on their weather maps, and the general "Who are you?" attitude when it comes to Scottish matters (or indeed non SE England matters).

That wasn't bad; apart from the slightly annoying on-screen message. When I did disable adblock, I got an even more intrusive pop-up telling me I needed to open an account. So adblock was restored. Pity the English bloke won though; the BBC will be creaming themselves .
