Well, I suppose it gets it all out of the way at once!

At the end of the short hill near my house on the way to work, chain comes off the large sprocket and for some reason all the gears are out of kilter

Get to town to drop off my parcels, the pannier rack has one bolt missing on the offside leg....that's also the bolt that holds the flag...so thats gone

Leave work, get on the trike and instantly feel that the nearside front tyre is almost flat..not how it was in the morning so that's a slow puncture

Oh and my rear tyre on the bike has bare patches...I do have another, just means farting around changing tyres in the morning

At least you've had your "dose" of bad luck for the time being!

It happens to all of us! I remember a few years back my friend and I just had to give up on a ride out - 100m out from her place I got a pinch-flat going over up a kerb, so I changed the inner tube, rode back to the house, changed the tube, pumped the wheel back up with a track pump, started out again. After 100m (in exactly the same place), I got a puncture in the other wheel! Rode back, changed the tube, etc. After 100m (in exactly the same place, again), her left-hand pedal sheared off, leaving the thread in the crank, necessitating a new crank. That was the end of the ride ...

i believe the liberal application of alcohol at the end of your day should in fact cure these issues..

alright then, they'll make you not care for a bit....

Couldn't even do that as I'm doing the Great Yorkshire Run on Sunday so am off the booze this week

Well, okay, sort of

I've been lazy this year with running so am a little out of condition, so I have a week training plan - scientifically developed it is too - well, kind of

Monday was a 4.5K run
Tuesday was a 6K run
Today - rest day (home from work, 1.5k walk to the local real ale hostelry for early bar 3 pints max)
Thursday - 6k run or maybe 8k, listening to my leg muscles and deciding when I get to the junction at the 4k mark
Friday - rest day but no booze (maybe a 10 mile detour home from work on the bike the scenic - i.e. hilly - way)
Saturday - 6-ish mile walk with a short steep ascent and gentle descent - thinking Win Hill
Sunday - 10K run then long bath followed by a Sunday afternoon ale session - enhanced by having Monday off work so no need for self-restraint
