Ive not bought a bike from Sigma, yet, but pretty much bought everything else from them over the years, and Id certainly have no issue buying a bike from them.

and I have bought a bike from Balfe before, and Id not hesitate to buy another bike from them again fwiw.

both shops I felt treated me as a better customer, even though Im remote from them, than some of the LBS's Ive used in the past, which is why they get my money and my LBSs tend not to.

Could anyone tell me if Sigma Sports offer a good online service for bikes. I would love to buy from my local bike shop but hes limited to only a few of the premium brands but ive been put off some of the online bike companies by reviews ive read. Thanks.

In a sense I faced a similar problem recently. I've used my LBS for 25+ years and purchased all my bikes there. For my latest purchase my LBS simply couldn't supply what I wanted. I approached the owner, explained my problem and asked if I bought the frame would he do the build. He agreed immediately.

On the odd ocassion I've used Sigma for bits and pieces they've been very good.

With regard to buying a bike online I would never do this. I believe it is fraught with difficulty.

I don't know your location but suggest it shouldn't be too difficult to find an independent LBS that will offer the brand/range you want. Within a 75 minute driving radius of my home I can visit physical retailers for every major cycle brand.

You mentioned you're after a premium range bike. My experience is an LBS offering premium ranges will offer more than one range. This is clearly a matter of opinion but the one I used offered Pinarello, Cervelo, Bianchi, Colnago, Wiliers and Enigma. I could name several LBSs with similar offerings.

My advice would be do not buy online. Bike purchase is too personal for this, especially if one has specific needs or is not 100% confident in speccing the machine

I bought my current bike online, but TBH didn't really have much choice at the time, it being August '21 when the supply c hain was still borked after COVID. It was a case then of gettinga shortlist of bikes, based on specified geometry, then seeing whether I caould find any of them in the relevant size.

In the end, I bought from Cycle Revolution, which is a small chain of shops in East Anglia who also sell online. And I have been very pleased with my purchase of a Cube Attain on which I have currently ridden 15,800 miles.
