Good recovery by the bus 4th clip.

Aided by some excellent driving from the car the bus almost hit - it had stopped at the lights but the driver was sufficiently aware of what was happening in the rear-view mirror that they were able to move out of the impact zone.

The thing about those ones are they seem to be completely ignoring/not seeing the red light rather than just being impatient and deciding they can't be bothered to stop. And the pedestrian at about 2.50 who narrowly misses getting hit and then continues as if it was nothing ... whereas I would be staring/shouting/standing still or showing some kind of reaction.

A good few of them seem to be vehicles turning right or left into the flow of traffic and getting hit by another vehicle going straight ahead. This is one of my pet hates at traffic light controlled junctions with no filter lights, when you get a green light and your turning right, and as soon as you start to turn suddenly become aware that traffic from the opposite side of the junction has also got a green light. Its not so bad if you know the territory, but dangerous if you do not know the junction.

I learnt from exeperience when I nearly had a head on at an unknown junction when I was turning right, and presumed the car approaching in the distance would have to stop for a red light on their side of the junction, but it did not. Now I tread warily.

Fair enough; I hoped that no one actually died; you're right about the music too I muted it ;)

It'd be interesting to break down into categories all the jumpers...and why ?
Inattentiveness, deliberate chance takers, drug/drink induced poor driving etc etc.
Puts it into contect doesnt it, how a ton of metal perhaps makes you feel complacent. Yes cyclist RLJ, but it's reasonable to assume they do it with care. Not that i'm condoning it, but even i do it (only on a bike)on an empty junction.
Also, makes you wonder when you watch the footage, what culture of RLJing exists in different locations. In Cyprus, it happens a lot, but again it seems to be done (relatively) safely, early morning or late night when there's limited traffic about. Whenever i'm working there, you find yourself slipping into the habit....yet i'd never dream of doing it here.

Scary footage...

I think you'll find that all light-controlled junctions everywhere are like that, unless there is a system of filter arrows indicating otherwise. So if you had a green right-turn filter arrow, traffic coming the other way would be stopped, but a simple green light means you would have to give way if turning.

I'd be amazed if there were no deaths. I have to say I stopped watching after the kid gets hit at 2:30 - somehow made even more tragic by the balloon. I've no idea why I'm 'happy' to watch cars crach into each other; I assume it's the same removal of association that allows horrific traffic violations to go largely unpunished in our courts. The clips I did watch appear to be American but it reminds me how exposed we as cylcists/pedestrians are to inattentive driving. Scares the bejesus out of me.
