I loved it, personally!

I liked it too, a bit of a fan really especially after Uncle Albert came in. I did think though that Nicholas Lyndhurst has proved a very lightweight actor in everything since, and that David Jason just reprises Del Boy in every other role he plays. Jack Frost? Oh Dear.

I've seen probably every single episode and they generally range from very good to ****ing brilliant. Just about the only one I didn't enjoy was the Miami one.

It went on far too long and has been repeated far too many times. But it was very funny back in the day.

See now thats one of my favs, but its also one of the only ones where it breaks some OFOH norms like it has incidental music and such. But lets face it any time Boycie looks out a plane window and improbably spots Del 20 miles out to sea on a jetski is brilliant!

It made me laugh when it was on... but like a lot of comedies (Fawlty Towers springs to mind) it seems to wither with age and far too many repeats... now Porridge on the other hand, still seems fresh as the day it was made and has me in stitches every time...

As for derivative and stereotyped – it seemed original enough to me and stereotypes are funny (aren’t they?)

pps - I also found the Miami one and most of the latter christmas specials pretty poor... b ut the handelier moment with grandad was a real gem
