I got called a w@nker this morning by a fellow cyclist

On the A21 this morning I overtook a fella on a mtb and got to a junction where the lights were red, so stopped. Mr mtb came wobbling round me and RLJ'd. Lights changed and I easily overtook him again and got to the next set of light's which were also red. I could hear him cycling up behind me, he tried to squeeze between me and the car on my right but couldn't quite manage it. Lights changed and we were off... got to the 3rd set of lights.. and yep being one of those days it was red also.
Here we go again I thought and as predicted Mr mtb swung round me and wobbled to the middle of the junction. Lights changed and off I went, once again very easily with no effort I overtook him.. with the result of him calling me a w@nker!... I mean.. the cheek of it..

hahah similar thing happened to me yesterday, fella on a full suspension MTB with very skiny legs would over take me at every set of lights with a smug look on his face, shortly i was back infront powering away.

In the past few days with all this heat, i am seeing more and more MTB's out and alot of hardtails with more than 100mm travel without lock-out. it's rather funny if you ask me.

Oh poor wee soul, he got all upset because he couldn't keep up...;)

I got held up behind a cyclist on the Clyde Tunnel today. Reasonable trek road bike by the looks of it, but he was finding it hard work. I must admit I felt rather smug because at that speed (no space to overtake), depsite the warm conditions, I didn't even break sweat.

Poor guy must have hated having me behind him...

His mtb probably weighs a ton,now if he had a lightweight carbon bike £2500 worth like ian he may have a better chance.

Yep, that heavy breathing would give anyone the willies !

I've cruised past folk going up a hill before and folk, with me totally relaxed and the other rider struggling and they have said "bastard, its just not fair" but in jest . I don't think I've angrilly been called something by another rider, well not to my face anyway

On the other side of the coin, I'm sick of being passed by riders who pass very close and give no indication they are going to do so. Scares the bejesus out of me.

called you a w*nker, does he know you?

Seriously, I've had a joke with a cyclist that went past me, far too easily, going up hill. In a gasping voice I said 'comeon, don't make it look too easy'. At least that's what I intended but not sure how much of it came out:biggrin:

I had a cyclist who used to do that regularly. I called him 'Snail' - even to the point of saying Hello Snail.

I'm not sure he got the joke. He never so much as said hello back.
