Oh poor wee soul, he got all upset because he couldn't keep up...

I got held up behind a cyclist on the Clyde Tunnel today. Reasonable trek road bike by the looks of it, but he was finding it hard work. I must admit I felt rather smug because at that speed (no space to overtake), depsite the warm conditions, I didn't even break sweat.

Poor guy must have hated having me behind him...

At least it wasn't me....

I was passed this evening, 5'ish, by a very polite guy on a road bike. I could hear him roaring up behind me, I pulled over and he said "May I pass". Now that's manners!!

I'm getting an increase in cyclists trying to undertake me to RLJ @ ASL's.
Getting close to suddenly indicating left just as they try to squeeze past to teach them a lesson.

There may be more bikes out there but not that many more intelligent riders.

Umm, that wasn't in the north bound Clyde tunnel was it?

Yes, I was riding the "Green Mobile Gate" aka Claud Bulter hybrid

That'll have been me passing you then!

The tunnel is tight for space so I always check that the cyclist ahead is aware of me and happy for me to pass before I come pass.

It's a small world!:hyper:

I have to say my manners in the tunnel don't run that far

If someone's looking like they're sane and in control of the bike they'll get a "ON YOUR RIGHT!" followed by getting passed and a thanks.

About 50% of the one's that don't look in control of their bike seem to stop, get off and move to the side to let me pass. I guess I must be noisy or something

Just think your self lucky that he didn't post it on youtube, CharlesF...

Jeez, that would have been embarrassing! The tunnel is awkward as it is narrow and a slower rider can spoil the faster rider's momentum, I do try to be aware of all you speedsters.

There is a small possiblity that my new bike will give me more speed!

That's a phrase I don't think I'd use unless I knew I was in company who understood it. In my experience, saying something like that often makes the person a) look round, possibly swerving, think you've told them to move right, or c) get left and right confused* and move the wrong way...

*I have to think about it, sometimes, like if giving directions...

I tend to keep my videos for a week or so. Hmm. How much is it worth?!

The only time a cyclist has ever been angry at me, it wasn't really my fault, was when I was following a bloke on a BSO up a hill, the traffic lights never change of you are going straight on (not sure why they are there really) but the repeater light for the right turn traffic is on the left hand lane so he thought the lights were red & stopped, I wasn't expecting him to stop so ended up too close behind him to do anything as it's a pinch point too.

Anyhoo, a female roadie, shouts something along the lines of "keep going lads" at the same time as I shouted "it's green mate".

They should get rid of the lights & island, it would be so much safer.
