... but only because of my Endura stealth jacket and biblongs. It was well cold and wet on tonight's commute. I remember it hurting painfully when I spent that much, but nights like tonight make it all better!!

I went all the way into Battersea for some speedskating training, but it was raining by Brixton, so finished riding into the Park, and then texted everyone, turned around and came home for a most enjoyable ride. Did my best to stay slow too, I'm in theory doing Hell of the Ashdown on Sunday.

I teased one RLJer, he took it well. I got caught going up both sides of Anerley Hill today as well, I'll blame that on the trying to go slower, LOL! Had a couple pieces of stupid driving, let's see if they come out on video.

Guess I have it to look forward to. Been nice here, fine with just a t-shirt and thin Montane Jetstream, going a little faster/ chosing the steep route home. Nice really gentle hardly noticeable drizzle kept me nice and cool on the evening run too

Hi, I live in Spain but work in Gibraltar. To avoid the long frontier queues every day. I park my car about near a beach on the Spanish side. I then pull out a little fold up bike and cycle the rest of the way into work. Does the job perfectly. Yesterday however we had a huge storm right over us. It was lashing down with hail stones all afternoon. I had no option but to cycle through it to get back to my car after work.

I was being pounded by hailstones and swirling high winds. Couldn't see a thing where I was going. Weaved through all the traffic. Doing all i can to stay upright on a little light bike. Then theres a part where I have to cross over the runway. It all opens out there and Wooooosh the wind was blowing so heavy i was actually leaning as hard into it as i could whilst trying not to get blown out onto the road.

After showing a rather soggy passport to the police and exiting into Spain. I noticed a whole load of cars werent moving much. There was a huge flood of water. I thought sod it. first gear. Pedal power thorugh it! My feet and ankles were fully submerging into the water as i was cycling through. The drains had completely over flown with the heavy rain.

As I turned down to the beach road. I had the full gale force winds head on into me. I was getting smashed in the face by hail stones and worst of all, it was whipping the sand up from the beach and that was whackng me too. It took all the effort i had to actually move forwards through the wind in first gear whilst feeling like a thousand needles were stabbing me everywhere.

I finally got to the car. The full force of the wind was shaking the car on its suspension leading to a very dizzy feeling sat in there!

It was an exhilarating experience! I loved it! Im mad! Yes i did need a change of clothes and a shower when i got home. But definitely a fun 3 mile commute!

This morning, they had to close the beach road and had the JCB's going down it to clear all the sand. It had basically become the beach.

What happened to that Mediterranean sunshine paradise i emigrated to?

All that dhb stuff from Wiggle got a test this evening in the rain. It worked well, even if I did have to sit on the kerb to take off my shoes to get into the trousers, and then reassemble in reverse order. The pedestrians looked at me with a sense of worry, and in one case, complete terror. It was a quite smart part of town.
