Poured a glass of diluting orange onto my son's laptop! Took it apart, dried it out, fine. My last mobile was immersed in water twice, once for ten minutes, and survived both.

My old Nokia mobile bounced off the toilet rim just as it started to flush and dropped in... had to go in after it and trapped it against the bend before it disappeared.

Dismantled it [in the days when you could] and dried it as best I could- into the airing cupboard for a few days... was so happy that it still worked though the 3 and 8 were sticky [don't imagine why...]

Think I might've left it.

I once got caught out in torrential rain, was completely soaked through, dripping with water.

Phone broke...I just took it back as it was new saying it had 'mysteriously' stopped working

My neighbour dropped his ignition key in the drain outside my house and didn't even bother to retrieve it, just went to the garage and bought a new one for £80. When he got back I turned up on his doorstep with his key which I had fished out of the storm drain with a rake and my best industrial rubber gloves. Quick wash and it was as good as new.

It probably worked out for the best; I now own the car and four sets of keys.
