Definition of shin.....

An object for (painfully) finding objects in the dark, or in your case stones in the heather.

However look on the bright side, that stone has probably been waiting for a thousand years, watching the development of transport from foot to horses and bicycles, and you have (with supreme grace, magnanimity and self- sacrifice) allowed it to serve its true purpose and given value to it's existence.

I know, as I got up checked my bike and myself over, and left. I could here that rock saying, "I have finally served my purpose in life."

It was the way I held the bike for just enough time to miss the Gorse, and aiming for the soft heather, only to land on a bit of heather hiding a stabby object.

How come you cycle on the grass and not on that nice smooth rut? Or is the rut a bit too hardcore for your tyres/wheels?

The ruts were bit too narrow for me I'm affraid, they were about 4inches wide in places and bloody lethal!!:becool:
