A fall from a tandem is often quite nasty... especially for the captain, not only handlebars in front as usual, but some behind too - which have a whole lot of momentum!

Last time we came off I ended up in A&E getting 7 stitches. On this occasion we tried to do a U-turn in a road that was too narrow, and didn't spot the ditch beyond the grass verge until it was too late. Fortunately speed was so low and hedge soft enough to prevent injury. PP junior picked himself up quickly but insisted I stay in the ditch until a so-called "friend" rolled up with a camera.
