No, was smooth as silk!

Well for 30 miles it was OK. Was more worried about axle shearing than the wheel falling-out.
I’ve no idea when it went!

I did the same after a front wheel puncture one evening. The next morning, I rode the bike five miles across central London in heavy commuter traffic...…..and the front wheel fell off as I carried it up the stairs to my office.

I had a similar thing with my fixed, I was giving it a clean and a check over and noticed the front wheel didn't seem right, the nut was still there but wasn't tight.

Perhaps you will get away with it a bit more on the road than on an mtb, especially if one side is on tight.

Yep. The less time you spend in the air, the better. (Mine was an untightened skewer so I think I was lucky.)
