Dropped a dumbell on it in the gym. Didn't realise it had fallen out of my pocket. Now own an Iphone 11.

On a more serious note, having done similar myself, if it’s just about usable I would plug it into your pc immediately and back up all your pictures etc before the screen fails completely

My phone backs up automatically via iCloud. Everything reloaded onto my new phone, nothing lost.
