Opinions please: New road bike

Found this Scott Addict online and appears a decent price.
Bit of a mish mash of components and don't know anything about the "R" bits.
Any thoughts/opinions/suggestions greatly appreciated.

Syncros are Scott own brand parts, Shimano brakes are lower tier Shimano, as is the chainset & cassette, everything else is higher up the order.

You are paying for a quality frame & forks though that are probably worth the asking price alone.

Well worth the money IMHO.

AKA boring
AKA Stealthy-ish ;)....or nondescript  Subtle......

I don't get why someone would spend £1400 on something nondescript  or a stealthy bike (it's not like you are bombing the Middle East)...and then the Mamils don their psychedelic jerseys and what not which kind of ruins the ninja effect but I guess each to their own

Stealthy on a bike is being a chunky rider who can climb like Froome and sprint like Cav...bit like Wayne Rooney (once) being good at football despite no muscle tone and no hair

Go on, tilt your head!
Looks a fair price to me. Agreed that the parts are a bit of a pick'n'mix but they are good parts nonetheless.

I may be a little bias mind as I ride a CR1 Pro :-)

I've always preferred function over style....colour not really important to me, if anything rather it didn't attract attention as i'm hopelessly out of shape! Not really been able to ride since an accident at beginning of year.
Yes @vickster i put the "chunky" in rider......got hair though:thumbsup:

FWIW @mr messy,

you would struggle to have a Ribble R872 built up to that spec & the frame, although a good one is not in the same ball park as the Scott.

Do they have the Foil on offer too ?

not that I have any pennies to buy one mind, all spent on upgrade parts for my soon to be here N+1.

My problem is i would need a small frame and they are few and far between. Plenty Foils been on offer...Westbrook had HMX frameset with a Di2 Groupo at £1500!!
From what i've read the Addict is lighter and more compliant than Foil and maybe even CR1 but still, allegedly, with some aero effect. I was originally looking at Foils and CR1 thinking the Addict would be stiffer being the supposed out and out race bike.
It's an online gamble for me but almost zero small framed bikes of any make seem available in my neck of the woods Also have never seen a Scott in my area either! ;)
