Been out this afternoon on a 20 mile ride and l was only 1 mile from returning home when l lost my
concentration for a split second looking down at my peddle as l thought my lace was caught up...
Anyway as l looked up all l seen was the back of a parked up van and "Bang" hit it and bounced off it and onto the grass verge...luckly l was on the left and fell on the grass because if it had been on the right l would have fell into the road with traffic all around. Anyway l was ok but shaken up abit and picked myself up and went around to the drivers door who was still sitting in his van to apologise for being a idiot, he said he heard the bang and asked if l was ok .. shaken up and pride apart..
Just goes to show what can happen if you take you mind off the road for a split second and drop your
concentration ... What mishaps has happened to you for lack of concentration..

Ooops....Just shows how a quick lapse of concentration (which I daresay we are all guilty of at some point) can happen easily and have the potential to cause something nasty.

For me it was a Fractured Elbow two weeks ago hopping up a driveway with a very slight kerb at a too shallow an angle, back wheel skips and out highsiding me over the handlebars straight onto my right elbow.

6-8 weeks off the bike as punishment (hopefully less time than that though) I still think it wasn't that silly to deserve such punishment though, albeit it was a cold and damp ish day perhaps I should have been more aware it was luckiliy only a mile or so from home.

+1 for things happening when you lose concentration. On Sunday I crashed into a box attached to railings because I was too busy looking at the sea  but as you mentioned it's better to learn the lesson when nothing major happens from it.

Was racing my mate to school a few years ago:whistle: , and turned left off a main road while checking over my shoulder to see where he was, bang straight into a parked car.

Bike's ok, chain came off but was able to slip that back on... l thought the front wheel would be buckled but it seems ok, surprising to say it hit the van head on at a fair speed... So bike's ok thanks just felt like a right one as l got back on the bike to cycle off:bicycle::wacko:
