One of the advantages of working from home and generally controlling my work schedule is I've been able to dip a toe into contributing to a number of U3A 'courses'.

@HertzvanRental, how about a trip to U3A head office, which is in Kent? Or has that been done before?
It is only an office, important, but not worthy of a day out. But thank you.

The thingy gallery. Turner, in Margate.
Romney Marsh, some spiffy churches there, also the Royal Military Canal.
The listening (what other sort are there?) ears at Greatstone.

How far do you want to go? How physically active are your members?

Great places Tim but all a bit close. We have gone to Duxford, Cambridge, Bletchley etc so cover a fairly wide radius. Just looking for clues for places that aren't so well known but worthy of a visit. Thanks for the reply.

Are you limited to a cycling day trip or is it a bus trip you're after. Just asking because the Todmorden branch didn't look like avid cyclists.

No problems. Further afield then:
Cuckfield ROC Bunker (restored Royal Observer Corps bunker in Cuckfield, open on selected days of the year)
Any of the NT properties round and about.
The velodrome, Stratford.
