So I got fed up with my Ortlieb classic roller panniers for commuting as there is no side pocket for easy access to tools and waterproofs etc. I decided to buy an accessory pouch;

I went for a large one. It has arrived today and is, well, a large one. The instructions seem to imply that the large one is for rucksacks and the small one is for panniers.

It looks like it will just about fit so I'm assuming it should be okay but before I start punching holes in my pannier, can anyone confirm if it is okay to use the large accessory pouch on the classic rollers?

They do the job, are easy to fit and easy to pack and close.

The problem is the weight you put in them rather than size as they alter the balance of the pannier.

Light stuff and there will be no noticeable change.

The other issue is catching, whilst the fitting is secure during normal riding,they can be catch on branches etc and pull off in extreme circumstances.

Cheers Cunobelin. Hadn't thought about the weight issue. My multi-tool will probably be enough to tip me over lol.

Managed to put it on without wrecking anything. It looks ok and loaded up with tools it feels okay. Not been for a spin with it on the bike though.
