Which Open University course would you take up if you had the time and inclination? Studying is a pernicious habit, and anyway I've already done one (BSc Technology, six long years) and I haven't got the time at the moment, but I wouldn't mind doing another some time.

I'd quite like to do the Language Studies degree and brush up on my German and French, but I'd also like to study English language and perhaps Latin and you can't do them all.

Then I'm quite interested in the Politics, Philosphy and Economics BA. I doubt I'd do very well in this as I'm not good at essays. However, I'm quite interested in systems and this is the closest you get.

Then I'm quite interested in psychology and social sciences.

Then I'm quite interested in physical sciences, cosmology and that lot.

Then I think I'm quite good at maths, perhaps I should play to my strengths and get a maths degree.

inclination = 0 so count me out after your opening statement! much rather just get on with life...

I'm doing one on Software Devlopment with Java at the moment. I've previously done one on Databases and also Oceanography when I worked there and wanted to do a course so I was more aware of what was involved.

Not bothered about working towards any qualification, have enough of those thanks!:biggrin:

I started doing the ICT degree but lost the inclination after completing the first course. I want to get back into it, and as my work pays 80% of costs it makes sense. Already have degree in history, so would like to do something like criminology or history of art.

Probably B29 or B26.

For the sort of things I like I think the stanford channel on youtube is pretty good.

I wouldn't say their maths courses are for everybody, they seem to cater for people from similar disciplines who want to top up things from a different perspective or for people with marginally lower abilities who are incredibly curious intellectually and want to really stretch their boundaries a lot (for them). Not a problem with that people seem to get big kicks out of it, just different that's all. The point about whether you'd want to study with anybody else interested in maths is also of relevance...

What about a science course?

I done level 1 science which was hard but good. There's verious other science type courses at higher levels if you're more advanced then level 1.

There is also a whole bunch of Science Short Courses, from Meteorology to Cosmology, with Forensic Science and Molecules and Medicine in between. They're not hugely demanding, and you can take 'em over a couple of months or 4 months or so. If you do six of them, you get a Certificate in Contemporary Science.

Cheers
