The mirror obviously created a false sense of security which was not justified, due to its misalignment. It might have been better for there to have been no mirror which would have led to the driver poking the nose of the car out ever so slowly.

Leave the wound open to the air if possible.

Hope you're not to badly hurt, despite your list of where you've now got dressings in place.

Unless they've used those fancy hydrocolloid dressings, which IIRC, stays on the whole time and then is magically removed with the scabbyness to reveal lovely unscarred skin. Had one used on my upper arm several years ago and it worked well.

Also DON'T PICK THE SCABS too much, or you uncover the yet to heal bit in the middle and slow healing a bit and encourage scar formation.

Get the police to confirm her admission in writing if at all possible. Once she finds out how much it's going to cost to put the bike right (and pay you any PI) she may well back out of it and claim you were at fault.

The police took her statement etc. so I would assume it has already been put into writing, in the next couple of days I will hopefully get the police reference number.
The police were in fact the ones to tell me that she had admitted fault, so I would guess that it has been deal with, but thanks for the warning.

I hope you recover soon and the pain is not too much !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funnily enough the grazes and cuts don't hurt, it's the constant tugging on my skin and hair from the micro-porous tape which is essentially leaving me with 24/7 Razor Burn.

I've got the itchy phase of the scabs to come yet though *gulp*

Air to road rash is old hat. Hydrocolloid dressings are the thing now. Keeps them wet and they heal better. Done the dry it out, but more recent surgery and injury has been hydrocolloid.

They work.

That roadside mirror must have been well out of alignment as they are usually quite convex.
