I've just heard a friend came off his mtb last night and dislocated his shoulder and smashed the end of his humerus. OUCH!! They're not operating until tuesday after the top shoulder man has had a look at it.

He probably won't read this but is a good cyclist and nice bloke with a young family. I'm not sure how happy his wife will be!

Get well soon Hodgy, you spoilt Tony's first ride on his new bike

Sorry to hear that - get well soon. Couldn't you make him a new humerus?

I've got a new humerus - it took about five weeks to make after they did the measurements. Not sure chappie with his bad shoulder wants to wait that long with the current one being u/s.

They operated on him today, the ball end of his humerus was in 40 pieces

What did they make yours out of Helen?

Mine's a titanium one - it was done sixteen years ago and is holding up very nicely

Oooh I won't tell you about my Tribology dissertation on wear in titanium ball joints. 16 years is doing well though

Nasty fall, what speed was he doing and how did he come off, do you know?

Off road in the dark at speed on a track they normally ride up rather than down.
He thinks he came over the bars and went to get his shoulder down and try and roll with it.

He usually has an off, they're not usually this bad.
