LOL!!! i'll try and find a before pic!
i was on the AMR London to Paris charity ride. took a turn at the bottom of the hill through some lights near Mayenne... saw the soaking wet gravel... thought FOOK!
bike just flipped out from under me.
BAM Hit the ground really hard! couldn't move so mate called the organisers (DA) the french people then lifted me out of the road into a house while they called the emergency services, couldn't understand a word they were saying so was well relieved when the "support crew" turned up and "rescued" me (i recognised one of them)... to take me back to the hotel and the doctor. French people were not happy about him taking me. then in the van when they told me they didn't know how to get to my hotel but would take me to theirs to see the doc i started to think something not quite right here... got back to the hotel... the guy WALKS me (well practically carries me... even went to give me a fireman's lift and i had to shout at him that i'd hurt my hip) up two flights of stairs to a room and says "this is the doc"....
"CLEARLY, that is not the fooking doctor" i exclaim!!!...

the guy was in bed! turns out they are other cyclists, not support crew, and the main guy that picked me up isn't even a cyclist, just their own "support" crew. by this time, i'm hurt, can't walk, soaking wet, shivering and just about ready to cry. This guy won't let me go, trying to give me a blanket and telling me he's going to get me into something dry, going on about him rescuing me from the french (who were actually very nice, i just couldn't understand what they were saying

and i'm sitting there not knowing what to do about this guy who is quite obviously just some kind of dickhead, and the other cyclists looking at me completely blank like "what the fook do we do and why has she turned up here???", i'm at the wrong hotel, no dry clothes and no real doctor. this guy keeps going on about how he rescued me and i'm thinking "you're worse than being with the french!"
meanwhile... at the scene... the police, the firebrigade and Rob from DA (the organisers) have all turned up and all having a fit at each other

because i've been abducted from the scene and it's against the law for me to leave.
By the time Rob tracks me down with the doctor the pain is really starting to set in, Rob is livid that someone has passed themselves off as part of his crew. Doc examines me, we decide to see if gets better, but it doesn't and four hours later i'm having an x-ray to see if i've cracked my pelvis.
Thank God i hadn't (French emergency service is ace... in, x-rayed, examined and discharged within half hour) but missed a day's cycling to Paris and now have the HUGE bruise
Needless to say, the guy who "abducted me" from the scene is now in serious trouble.
