Got caught in the rain today, and while my legs got wet as I was wearing shorts, my feet were ok until...... the road surface changed to that smooth tarmac that shines when it's wet. The water sits on top of it, and cycling along it just sent it all over my feet, up my legs and up my rear. I can see how overshoes my stop some of the water getting my feet wet, but a lot of water just ran down my legs and into my shoes. Overshoes wouldn't stop that happening (would they?) so is there any point wearing them at this time of year?

They definitely help keep my feet dry (not 100% dry though but alot better than without) - although my primary reason for wearing in summer is to keep my white shoes clean
