My road bike comes with lovely oversized bars, which I find very comfortable, (same on my MTB).. however I am needing to ride a few bikes (not my own) which don't have oversized bars. This I am finding quite uncomfortable, especially after long periods, I can't get the bars changes on these bikes.
Are there any solutions for this? perhaps a removable overgrip or some sort? that can be placed over the bar securely but easily removed?
One bike is a rental track bike (hence unable to change anything) but also would need whatever solution to not upset the Velodrome staff. (hopefully this will be a none issue in a few months as I plan to get my own , but would be nice if I didn't have to suffer until then)
The other bike is a road tandem, so I still need to be able to access gears and brakes, only interested in riding with hands on the hoods in this case. Thicker bar tape has been suggested, but I suspect this will only go part way to alleviating the problem.
Any help much appreciated. Thanks
