My question is...
Is there a difference?
If so...
What is the difference?
When does overtaking become filtering and visa versa

Very simple. IMHO an overtake is where something is passed which is not held up by / in traffic. Filtering is passing held up / slow moving traffic.

Now go forth and fight.

Why? Is that your intention?

In my book, filtering is moving between lanes of (usually) slow moving traffic whereas overtaking is being to the right of (in the UK) traffic, be that in the outside or opposite lane.

No, I want to know but I knowing anything asked here or anywhere for that fact which can have more than one answer results in confrontation.
