OVO, whoever they are have stumped a good few bob so that the race can go ahead, so I suppose they want their name mentioned as much as possible. I do agree with you though that it may get a bit bit annoying after a weeks worth.:banghead:

OVO, whoever they are
Errr, an energy company.

They like to think of themselves as an alternative choice to the 'big six'.
I get that it is ll to do with sponsorship, but describing the race every time as 'The OVO Energy Tour of Britain' is going to get as annoying as those bloody 'Watchfinder' adverts in the TdF.

They should say it at the start and the end and be done with it!

The TdF isn't described as the 'Le Credit Lyonnais Carrefour Skoda Tour de France' is it?
They should get rid of all the sponsorship and go back to calling it the Milk Race.

It's a bit more complicated than that...

The Tour de France doesn't have a title sponsor, probably because it's prestigious enough that firms will pay large enough amounts to be associated with bits of it. The Milk Race OVO Energy Tour of Britain is smaller, so has more to gain from title sponsorship - the organisers have sold naming rights to the whole thing. Like the Rumbelow's Cup in football (or whatever it's called these days), Allianz Park in rugby or the Kia Oval.

Damn. Typed too slowly.

(Oh, the days when government bodies provided sponsorship! How about the NHS England Ride London, or the Border Force national clay pigeon shooting championships?)

I like Skol

A Minging Manc...
OK, serious point now. It is energy switch time again for Skol Hall and OVO are coming up as a contender and also offer a 2yr fixed price deal which looks tempting.
I know nothing about them so obviously came to my beloved cycling forum to see what the peeps of cyclechat know about them as a supplier? Using the forum search brought me here and there doesn't seem to be anything more relevant.

Has anybody got any relevant comments or actual real life experience of being an OVO customer?

Seem fine to us, though they did install a smart electricity meter which knackered our board for a while.
