Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I don't understand anything anyone north of manchester says. I had a neighbour from newcastle once. Yee gods. I used to just nod like an idiot. Didnt understand a word he said.

It's ok here in Hebden Bridge because there aren't many natives left. They have gradually been pushed out by hippies, artists, middle-class engineering types, lesbians, cyclists and now media luvvies who moved oop north when the Beeb set up in Salford Quays. There are just enough locals left to stand at the roadsides and baffle us with bitter cries of 'offcumden' as we pass! (I used to think it must be Tyke for 'Handsome Midlander' but then they started spitting at me!)

This thread appears to have gone a bit wrong...
I intended to be celebrating cycling terms increasing in popularity enough to enter common usage in English, thus being an indicator of the increasing popularity of our pursuit...but everything degenerates into nobber or knob jokes in the end... Oh well, I started it!
