I carry a spare tube, and on the impossibly rare occasion that 2 punctures should befall me, I have slime patches. The Slime patch box is postage stamp size. You could tape one under your seat!

Oh I know, and in the Brompton bag there is a full set of tools , and a tube and leechs, but TBH if i get a p****ure on the Bronmpton I normally just whlstle up a taxi. The galling bit was not having any of that with me knowing I had 4 new tubes in the house and with nothing at all in the panniers ! :-(

Oh yeah, I also need to get myself a head-torch for those winter repairs in the dark (after the fun last year when the valve core flew out of the new tube into the shadows as I was removing the pump head, shortly followed by all the streetlights in the road going off...)

I couldn't be bothered with all that repair tube stuff so just fitted Armadillo all condition tyres and slime tubes, no puntures in 600 miles, and no weighty tool bag. I do carry a micro pump just to top up if they need it.

I've got Marathons on the Brompton and the Continental equivalants on the Voyage ( Which will be replaced with Marathons, for the refelctive side wall) , compared with my gut the weight of a tool bag is not significant! :-(

This is all I carry on the bike, one allen key fits the socket which lets me use either end of the screwdriver bit that fits.

I wouldn't rely on that 100% - I still got flats on the MTB with Marathon Plus tyres on - if you're unlucky enough to run over a nail or a larger, sharper bit of stone/flint/thorn/glass, it'll go through no matter what protection you have.

Prior to that, I'd tried Slime tubes in my Conti City Contacts - all that happened was that I got a puncture that spewed green slime until there was no air left in the tyre....

At the very least take a spare tube and a repair kit with you - it's better than being stuck, miles out either way from your destination or your starting point, on a freezing cold, wet and windy morning!

I have found the Armadillos to be very good and have got them fitted to both my MTB and Tourer no punctures so far , my daughter had SCWALBE Marathons, tyres and got a puncture the first day, a tiny 3mm tack through the edge of the tread, but I always carry cash and a Debit visa in case of trouble. Also big wuss ,if the weathers that bad I would be at home.
