Postage is generally by weight, so the big box won't cost more than a small one. For truly crazy packaging, try dolls like the Monster High ones. Every tiny little bit is strapped down with what seems like adamantium kevlar bonded cable ties, and you need a frickin laser to get in the box in the first place!

That's in case the monster dolls try to escape in transit.

Amazon are supposed to be trying to change their packaging system and putting items in more appropriate sized boxes instead of enormous boxes for tiny items. I recieved an email from them asking me to leave packaging feedback on a a couple of items I bought, so they appear to be trying anyway.
