Might sound a strange thing here but when I use padded waist tights the pad never seems to sit or feel right (always seem to end up with more pad at the front) as compared to when I wear shorts. Anyone else have this issue or solutions to it!

Bib tights are better at keeping pad in place. But depends on what brand you have - cheaper ones can often nhave a poor pad.

I wear padded tights with adjustable braces, then you can keep them up, especially at the back.

Or just buy some cheap tights and take the pad out, works for me

Same here. Means I can stick with the shorts that I know fit me, and just buy pretty much any old tights purely as an extra layer for warmth.

(plus it works a lot better for long day/night rides where you might want to get your knees out!)

I used to do that - but hated the nora batty look as the tights wrinkled and rode downwards !
