pain in the @@*& this morning!

the start of my commute in the morning is downhill. First mile or so in fact. (oh joy of joys coming home!)

so i jump on at 6.30 this morning, and leisurely roll off down the hill.

as it levels out, i start to pedal.

i discover that the bl@@dy rear hub seems to be knackered. freewheels in both directions, so no drive at all.

Long walk back up the hill - get changed - into the car instead.


wheel is only 13 months old. What's wrong with it?
easy fix or bike shop job?

freewheel broken? not too bigger job, just messy and parts can fire out.

Axle off - 10mm (or 8mm) allen key - unscrew old freewheel - new one in - axle back in - laffin

thanks. will go to the cycle shop to spend a £10 and leave having spent £50 as usual!
