Painted stones

I've found several of these painted stones whilst out on the bike, or walking.
Some are ~Isla Stones~, some are a more local thing, apparently.

This, by Stratford war memorial, MK.

I moved it to a location a few miles away, and sent the pics to No.1 daughter to post on their Facebook page.
Not sure if it's just a UK thing, or further afield as well.

Madeley, a village in Staffordshire does the same thing. They have a Facebook page to post locations found. They eventually get all over the world.

It's been ongoing for some years in our village. Kids find them, photograph them, stick the 'find' on Facebook, and then re deposit them elsewhere.

Last year I made four of my own, one of each of the bands mystical symbols to celebrate 50 years since the formation of Led Zeppelin, and Mini D planted them around the village.

I might make a few with my grandkids.
I wonder if it'll work around here or if they'll just vanish, or become weaponised..

Mrs Salad has painted and hidden quite a few in our area. It was quite a craze about a year ago, but seems to have calmed down somewhat, of late. Seems like innocent fun to me.

You’ve not found the right ones. Some of them are so much fun been up trees and all sorts.
Themed series of them even better something for everybody.

Someone our way is quite prolific apparently, walked out to the car one day to find this..

The grandkids were amazed. Then turned it over to see this which really did make me smile..

A wee selection of my wife's efforts, she does some for Whiteley's children's hospice and some for largs rocks.
It's a great wee hobby we hide them as we cycle about ,we have had people find them from Gatwick airport upto ullapool
