Panaracer Flataway Puncture Protection

Anyone tried this tyre liner, and how did you find it?

It's about triple the price of basic rim tape (and yes, I know it isn't rim tape), so is it worth it?

I used it and it worked for about 500 miles or so then it started to disintegrate - cracks though it. After a few more 100 miles I began to get punctures due to the inner tube wearing against the cracks. Then I got better tyres.

Edit. It might have been more than 500 miles before it started to disintegrate - maybe 1000 but it was a while ago now.

Forgot to say, before it disintegrated I had no punctures. Before I used it I had many.
