I've never had pancakes with ice cream but that's just what I fancy for some unknown reason

I don't mind pancakes, but visually they look like fried skin

As I'm not religious I don't go for the Lent thing. If you want to stop doing something, you shouldn't have to use a specific date to do it.

Not a big fan of pancakes, but I managed one of the grandchildren's leftovers, it was covered with chocolate spread, but it was OK.

For Lent I will be giving up believing in Lent. (same as every year)

Why, in US movie breakfasts, do they (usually the dad) cook vast mountains of pancakes on a weekday, and the family rush past on their way to school or work, leaving the pancakes to be fed to the dog. Every day.
