There was a pancake house in Leicester.in the early to late sixties, they made savoury and sweet pancakes.
My favourites were cheese followed by strawberry and ice cream pancakes,

Savoury for me; lardons, grated cheddar and Caribbean hot sauce.

Pancakes feature quite a lot in our house as they're a cheap, quick, easy and fairly reliable method of getting food into a toddler. For lent I'll be swapping my 11 o'clock and 4 o'clock snacks for pieces of fruit, although that's not so much giving something up, as generally improving my diet for my own selfish reasons so I'm not sure if it counts.

Oh yeah, and you don't have to be religious to do lent.

I was looking forward to a traditional (in our house) dessert of pancakes tonight

Unfortunately due to one thing or another, I am going without tonight.

Oh well, could be worse, I could be living on the street or something so I guess I'm grateful for that.

I love that cutter!!!

There was a Dutch Pancake House in Manchester too....long gone, along with flares, Betamax and prawn cocktails

When I was single, I used to treat myself to a visit to the Dutch Pancake House whenever I went into Manchester. I always had peaches and cream but the menu choices were amazing.
I took young Miss K once... but it was gone!! I don't miss the flares, Betamax or prawn cocktails though.
