I made my wife's favourite last night - buckwheat galettes topped with spinach, ham, mushrooms and a poached egg.

Only thing missing was an earthenware pitcher of dry cider.

Pancakes with manchego in, rolled up and parmesan on top, with a mountain of salad.
Lemon and sugar pancake next, and one with triple sec.

As I'm not religious I don't go for the Lent thing. If you want to stop doing something, you shouldn't have to use a specific date to do it.

Lent is not about stopping doing something you want to stop doing, it's about the self discipline of fasting,not having something you want to have.

Anyone on here have savoury pancakes

I tried some in the USA with bacon, fruit and maple syrup. They were actually quite delicious, though I'm not allowed to mix bacon and syrup at home because the wife says it's illegal.

We had gluten-free pancakes (made with tapioca flour)

Hair of the dog. Enough of this pre-Reformation eggtravagance. Mardi Gras has gone, along with all the shriven self examination...now's the time to 'batter down the hatched' and have Ash browns for the next forty days...return to the simple foods of yore.

My pancake mix is resting on the side. Not sure I've made enough though. Plenty of eggs, flour and milk on standby
