Consider it a souvenir that you've acquired for the sum of £5.

On the bright side, its resale value should in theory never drop, as the Bank of England on their website promise to honour all withdrawn banknotes of theirs at face value for ever.
I have a sack of my Gran's half penny coins - presumably from an early career in bank heisting. They don't seem to be worth much on eBay. But if the Bank adjust for inflation... I might retire!

Edit:480th of a pound =.2 pence, or half a pence? I might investigate.

You end up with too many of those. Need to get your hands on some of these.

I banked my paper £20s yesterday because I thought it was already done, but she said that I had until 2020...

45p per packet. I got £4.55 in coins and a £5 note in change for each one.
Sorry I'm still having difficulty with the maths, you start with a single £10 note, you go to Aldi buy 5 packets of rice each at £0.45 & end up with over £20 in change & £25 in £5 notes, can you tell me where this magical machine is, I want to retire.

One can't use Apple Pay to light a cigar.

I think there are more reports of self combusting iPhones than tenners.
