Hmm, greedy and happy to kill the planet in the process some would say.

Naughty LLB, mustn't fall into the pious blame mentality which slips so easily off the tongue of some.

There I said it before the real yoghurt knitters jump in.

Fill your boots, I'm not judging you and anyone who thinks 60 miles a day commute on a cycle is viable or remotely sensible is off their trolley

Well, my car gives cleaner emmisions and its not polluting the plannet. My car runs on bio diesel, and i source it from a supplier which uses recycled vegetable oil.

The exhaust does smell of chips but its environmentally freindly !!!

I drive and ride in the cold weather.

The drive is 12 miles, the ride is 12 miles.

Considerations about where to park.

1/ How busy is it while your car is there? Counted out Industrial estates and near Doctor's surgeries.

2/ Vandalism. Counted out Industrial estates, Railway station car parks and near High Schools.

3/ Lighting. Directly beneath a street lamp.

4/ Local residents. No notes under wipers yet!

5/ Access. Not too far away from main route.

6/ Causing an obstruction. Make sure a Fire Truck can get past your car.

7/ Cost. Make sure you know any parking restrictions.

and finally and most important -

8/ DON'T tell anyone where you park.

ICE = Internal Combustion Engine
PIE = Positive Ignition Engine

In a compressed cylinder, the H2 will go boom, but some Nitrogen will be oxidised to make the lethal stuff.

Your Bio Diesel is a hydrocarbon, so it makes CO and CO2. Not healthy. Because its high compression, it does make NOx.
Chip oil is so variable, the combustion process is usually incomplete, so some unburns will come through to give off a stink. In ideal combustion, the HC is oxidized to CO2, which is odourless, so your unburns and the impurities ( the yellow colour ) are the smelly bit.

A H2 Sterling engine, an external combustion engine, is polution free. But a mobile Sterling engine is so inefficient, its not worth bothering with.
